What is an "integrated A/E office?"
SIGMA7 believes that mission critical projects, due to their complexity, require a cohesive integrated team to deliver successful project. To that end, we are a cross discipled office with in-house architects, interior designers, engineers, and project managers.
Our staff consists of professional engineers, mechanical (HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection) engineers, electrical engineers, registered architects, interior designers, and project managers, We also have a vetted list of specialty consultant partners, should the need arise. We coordinate structural, civil, and other trades along with our trusted ‘partner’ consultants, or yours if you prefer.
We will also provide architecture or engineering only project services, if required by a client.
See our white paper entitled, "Advantages of Integrated Architectural and Engineering Design."
-
Will SIGMA7 provide Architectural or Engineering Services only?
While we prefer to utilize our integrated team, we recognize that some clients have a favorite or preferred architect or engineer. We will gladly provide architectural or engineering only services at a client's request.
SIGMA7 can also provide owner representation services, peer review and oversight, or other limited scope of service deliverables.
-
Can SIGMA7 provide professional services for projects other than Mission Critical and Data Centers?
Yes. Our team of architects, engineers, interior designers, and project managers are quite capable of providing design services for corporate interiors, renovations, moves-adds-changes, as well as new commercial construction.
-
What is a mission critical facility?
A mission critical facility is one whose failure would interrupt essential business or public operations: data centers, network operations centers, emergency operations services centers, and the power and cooling plants that support them. Our paper What is a Mission Critical Facility and Mission Critical Design? covers the basics.
-
Is it possible to upgrade a data center without a shut down?
Yes, in most cases. Much of our work takes place in operating facilities. We design temporary power and cooling, phase construction around production, and write Methods of Procedure for every critical activity and cutover, ensuring success without surprises.
-
When should we engage SIGMA7 for our project?
Early involvement delivers the best results. Due diligence, feasibility studies, and master planning set the scope, budget, schedule, and everything that follows. Critical decisions made early often defer or avoid costly re-work in the future.
